HDF (High-Density Fiberboard)

HDF material is an engineered wood panel made from compressed wood fibers at a higher density than MDF, yielding a harder, smoother, and more moisture-stable substrate. HDF is widely used for painted cabinet doors and dense core layers because it machines cleanly and resists the seasonal movement that can crack paint at solid-wood joints. It is heavier than MDF and plywood of the same thickness.
