Fabuwood Illume Cabinets

Illume is Fabuwood’s European-inspired frameless line, offered with the flat Catalina slab door in high-gloss and matte & textured finishes and the new three-piece Siena door in 23 textured finishes — all on a furniture-board box with premium Blum® soft-close hardware and reinforced metal drawer systems.

Illume includes Catalina Gloss with 2 high-gloss finishes, Catalina Matt & Texture with 13 matte and textured finishes, and Siena with 23 textured finishes — from clean whites and greys to natural wood looks.

No — and that’s by design. Illume uses an engineered furniture-board box, the European frameless standard, paired with slab door fronts, Blum® soft-close hardware, and Blum metal drawer systems. If you want plywood in a Fabuwood frameless kitchen, look at Ovela.

Yes. Door samples are available for Catalina Gloss, Catalina Matt & Texture, and every Siena finish, so you can confirm the finish in your own space before ordering.

Like every Fabuwood stock series, Illume typically ships in about 2 weeks; the exact date depends on the collection, the finish and your delivery address, so we confirm it on your quote before you order. Siena is the exception: its textured Designer Collection finishes typically take 6–8 weeks.

Both — the choice comes down to surface. Catalina Gloss creates a bright, light-reflective look for sleek high-shine kitchens, while Catalina Matt & Texture delivers a softer, warmer modern aesthetic with matte and natural woodgrain finishes.

Siena is Fabuwood’s new three-piece slab door: two vertical stiles framing a centre panel, with the grain running up the stiles and across the panel. It is full overlay, comes only in textured Designer Collection finishes (23 of them, typically 6–8 weeks), and is offered on both frameless lines, Illume and Ovela. Siena cabinets are quoted per project; a door sample is the way to see it first.

Both sit on the same Illume box with the same Blum® hardware, so the choice is the face. Catalina is a single flat slab and the only Illume door offered in high-gloss. Siena splits the front into two stiles and a centre panel, which adds a fine frame line that suits warm Scandinavian and Japandi kitchens. Ten Siena finish names also appear in Catalina Matt & Texture — Ferrara Oak, Natural Elm, and Hickory Rock among them — so ordering one sample of each door in the same finish is the quickest way to decide.

Matte and textured Catalina finishes are the most forgiving — they hide fingerprints and smudges well and wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. High-gloss finishes clean just as easily but show smudges a bit more between wipe-downs.

Illume Catalina 10×10 kitchens typically run $6,000–$8,000, above the Allure framed lines and just under the frameless Ovela slabs. Our Fabuwood price list has the full breakdown by line and finish.
