Nine inches is the bottom of the width grid — the first size that is a cabinet rather than a piece of trim. What actually goes in nine inches
A face frame takes its bite out of both stiles, so the clear opening inside a 9″ box is nearer 7″ than 9″ — confirm the exact figure before you buy an insert built to a fraction.
