Shaker: the always-stocked core

Shaker is the signature line and the one we quote most. Seven of its eleven finishes are paints; Honey and Cinder are stains on a solid birch door frame with the grain showing through, and Essence Oak is a light white-oak woodgrain take on the same profile. Unfinished ships raw for site painting and is the lowest entry point into the brand. White, Grey, Navy, and Black are kept in stock, which is why this series shows up on our short list for schedule-driven jobs. Oxford: Toffee, Cashmere, and the rest of the palette

Oxford is often mislabeled a raised panel. It isn't one. The center panel is flat, recessed behind a wide angled bevel, so you get a shadow line around the panel without any ornament. It sits between a plain shaker and a traditional raised door, which is why we quote it for transitional kitchens and for older houses where a flat shaker looks too new.

Oxford Toffee is the one wood-tone in the series: a warm light-brown stain on a solid birch mortise-and-tenon frame, with the grain showing through. Birch takes stain with some natural blotch and figure, so expect door-to-door variation. That's the look, not a defect. USCD describes Haven Ember as falling between Oxford Toffee and Shaker Honey, so if Toffee is close but not quite right, those two are the next samples to order. Oxford Cashmere is the newest Oxford color, a soft, understated neutral. USCD hasn't published its undertone, and we won't guess one for you. Order the sample and look at it next to your counter and wall paint in daylight and at night before you decide. The Oxford Cashmere collection has every cabinet in it. The other three finishes are easier to call. White is a bright white, Sage is a muted green, and Mist is a greige paint on birch with a brushed-on glaze that exposes the grain. Mist is the most hand-finished look in the brand.

Edgeline, Casselberry, and Haven

Edgeline is the most modern framed door, a skinny shaker in bright White or the wood-grain Ridge for people who want frameless styling on a framed box. Casselberry is the only raised panel in the framed lineup: mitered frame, pillowed bevels, hand-glazed detail, and in Saddle the only all-solid-birch door the brand builds. Haven is the newest framed door, with three painted HDF finishes (Dune, Sage, Harbor) and two stained solid-birch finishes (Ember, Ridge). Harbor and Ridge are new for September 2026 — samples ship first, with cabinets following mid-month.

Framed Capital vs Frameless altaeuro: Two Different Boxes

This is the part of the catalog that other dealer sites most often get wrong, so it deserves its own section. The five framed series belong to what USCD calls its Capital collection. Palermo and Torino belong to a separate frameless line the brand calls altaeuro, and the construction is not the framed spec with the face frame removed — it is a different box entirely. Some dealer pages copy the framed dovetail-drawer spec onto the frameless series; that is incorrect, and it matters when you are comparing quotes.

Framed cabinets attach doors to a solid hardwood frame around the box opening. Frameless (full-access, European) cabinets mount the doors directly to the box sides, so the opening is the full interior width and the reveals between doors are tight and continuous. Neither is better built; they suit different rooms. Two honest footnotes. First, the framed hinges and glides are solid hardware with no brand name attached — USCD does not publish one, so we do not claim one. If Blum soft-close hardware is part of your spec, that is a Fabuwood conversation, and it is the main thing the price gap between the two brands pays for. Second, the frameless drawer box is metal-sided, not dovetailed hardwood. It is a perfectly good drawer, and the load rating is published, but if a dovetail box is on your checklist, stay in the framed series. Dovetail boxes became standard equipment in this tier for a reason, and it is worth insisting on them where the catalog offers them.

Warranty, Certifications, and What Is Not Published

USCD publishes a limited lifetime warranty covering defects in material and workmanship on cabinetry, hinges, and glides for the original purchaser in residential use. It is non-transferable and excludes normal wear, misuse, improper installation, and natural wood movement — the same exclusions every manufacturer writes in. In the value tier that is the strongest paper we sell: J&K, Mantra, KCD and Tribeca publish five-year limited terms. USCD sells online as RTA. Its terms process flat-pack orders in about 3 business days and assembled orders in about 5; assembly is an Assembled option on Edgeline Ridge and by quote on other finishes. Freight then typically runs 1–7 business days by tracked freight carrier, with curbside delivery to accessible addresses in the continental U.S. as the standard service; lift-gate service, white-glove or threshold upgrades, and Alaska, Hawaii, and remote addresses are quoted separately, and shipping is itemized in your quote before you pay. What to Watch Out For, and Who Should Not Buy This

An honest review earns its keep here, so these are the things we tell customers before they order.

• The catalog is lean by design. Twenty-nine finishes across seven doors is enough for most kitchens, but we do not have a custom-color or modification program on file for the brand, and the only glazed formal line is Casselberry's two finishes. If your project needs a specific tone the brand does not stock, Fabuwood's catalog is more likely to have it.
