What "Allure" Means Inside Fabuwood's Lineup

Fabuwood sorts its catalog by construction first and style second, and that is the key to reading the names. Allure is the framed family: a solid wood face frame around the box opening, full-overlay doors that cover most of that frame, and a select solid wood box with a natural wood-veneer interior. The line name tells you the box and hardware package; the collection name (Galaxy, Luna, and so on) tells you which door is on the front.

Above it sit two frameless lines. Illume, the 2022 series, is a frameless European box built from furniture board with metal drawer systems, wearing the Catalina slab door in 15 finishes. Ovela, announced in November 2025, is the premium frameless line — the same Catalina finishes on plywood boxes with solid wood dovetail drawers. Galaxy: The 14-Finish Shaker That Ships in Days

Galaxy is the collection most people picture when they hear the brand name: a classic five-piece shaker with a solid wood frame and a ⅜-inch MDF center panel, in the widest finish range of any Fabuwood door. Because it is the best-seller, the factory keeps it in stock, which is why Galaxy ships pre-assembled in 7 days to 3 weeks while every other collection runs 3–5 weeks.

Two things on this list deserve a closer look. Natural Oak is the newest finish in the whole catalog — a warm, white-washed stain on real rift-cut white oak with visible straight grain, which puts the most-requested cabinet wood of 2026 on the most familiar door. And pricing is not flat across all fourteen: twelve finishes price identically, while Desert Oak and Natural Oak, both true wood-grain veneers, run about 20% higher on the same cabinet — roughly $705 versus $590 for an average discounted base cabinet in our catalog.

Luna: Slim-Frame Matte Minimalism

Luna is the collection for people who want the calm of a slab kitchen without the cold. The door is a pared-back, slim-frame profile — narrow rails around a flat center — finished in matte, so from across the room it reads nearly as a slab while keeping a little shadow line up close. The narrow rails matter most on the stains: on Luna Natural Oak, the straight, warm-toned grain runs almost uninterrupted across the door.

Six finishes: Dove, Kona, Timber, Natural Oak, Desert Oak, and Truffle. Dove in matte is the signature look; Timber and Desert Oak are how you get a natural-wood kitchen that still reads modern. Luna is made to order, so plan on 3–5 weeks before freight. Against Nexus, the difference is temperament — Luna soft and organic, Nexus precise and architectural — and a pair of door samples usually settles it.

Fusion: The Wide-Rail Transitional Door

Fusion is what happens when a shaker gains weight. The rails are noticeably wider than Galaxy's, the recessed panel is smaller, and the door reads more substantial on the wall. What it is not is frameless — behind that seamless door is the same solid wood face frame as every other collection here, which is why it prices with Fusion and Luna rather than with Illume.

That one-finish deck is the honest limitation. A matte slab in a stain means Luna; a slab in a color means the custom paint program; gloss or wood texture is Catalina territory on Illume and Ovela. Echo and Luxe: The 22-Finish Collections

Echo and Luxe are the newer, higher-tier doors in the line, and they share a 22-finish deck built from three stocked signature finishes plus 19 designer colors. Echo is the shaker redrawn for this decade — a slimmer, more refined five-piece profile — stocked in Dove, Mocha, and Timber, with the designer palette stretching to bold tones like Cabernet Red and Sage Green. It is the door we reach for on color-driven, two-tone kitchens.

Luxe drops the frame-and-panel idea entirely: a smooth flat-panel door wrapped in wood veneer, stocked in Frost, Desert Oak, and Canyon Oak. Canyon Oak delivers continuous honey-to-caramel grain across a run of doors. It sits at the top of the framed line's price range ($5,500–$7,000 for a 10×10) and is the closest you can get to the European slab look on the framed box.

Beyond those decks, Fabuwood's custom paint program reaches every framed door. Any of the six collections can be factory-finished in any color from the full Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore catalogs; we verify the exact color code as a certified dealer and place the order. It is not available on the frameless Illume and Ovela slabs. A painted-to-order color carries an upcharge over a stock finish and adds lead time, both confirmed when we quote, so ask for that number specifically.

What Happened to Onyx?

You will see "Onyx" listed alongside Galaxy, Luna, Nexus, and Fusion in older Allure spec-book copy, and searches for Onyx Ocean Blue still land on our site. We do not currently stock an Onyx collection — the old Onyx pages on our store redirect to the main Allure page — and we do not have current finish details for it, so we would rather say that plainly than guess. How Every Cabinet in the Line Is Built

This is the spec table on every Allure collection in our catalog, identical across all six door styles; only delivery changes, covered below.

Two of those rows do most of the work in a daily-use kitchen. The Blum® hardware is the same Blumotion and Tandem system found in custom cabinetry, standard on every cabinet rather than sold back as an upgrade. And the face frame is what makes this a framed line even when the door, like Nexus's slab, looks nearly seamless. The Limited Lifetime Warranty and Its Fine Print

Current Fabuwood series carry a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the home, covering the box, doors, drawers, and hardware under normal residential use. One dated caveat: Allure and Illume purchased before January 26, 2023, and Quest and Value purchased before October 1, 2024, carry the older five-year warranty — relevant if you are matching cabinets bought years ago.

Read the exclusions the way we do, because they are standard for the industry but real. Hairline cracking at the joints of painted doors is excluded — a wood-movement reality on every painted five-piece door from every brand. Natural darkening or lightening of finishes is excluded, as is damage from uncontrolled environments: garages without climate control, prolonged direct sun, steam and moisture abuse. The remedy is repair or replacement, not a refund. Claims run through us as the selling dealer, with photos. Freight damage is a separate process with a clock on it: inspect every box at delivery, note visible damage on the receipt before signing, and report concealed damage to us promptly — well before installation day.

Lead Times You Can Plan Around

Lead time is the one spec that changes from collection to collection, and the reason we steer a remodel that is already behind schedule toward Galaxy.

Your quote lists the current lead time for the exact collection and finish, and we confirm it again at order — stock levels move. Door samples ship faster than cabinets, so the usual sequence of sample first, kitchen order after, adds little to the timeline.

How to Read Collection Names and SKUs

A quote for this line arrives as a list of codes, and they are more readable than they look. On our listings the collection and finish are abbreviated to initials — GF is Galaxy Frost, so GF-B12 is a Galaxy Frost base cabinet 12 inches wide. The size code follows Fabuwood's standard system: B24 is a base 24 inches wide, W1230 a wall cabinet 12 wide and 30 tall, TP152484 a tall pantry 15 wide, 24 deep, 84 tall. What the Line Costs, Collection by Collection

Fabuwood does not publish a national price sheet — each dealer sets its own numbers — so these ranges come from our own quotes and live catalog: assembled prices for a standard 10×10 kitchen, cabinets only, with our current Fabuwood pricing (35% off list at the time of writing) already applied. Accessories and freight are itemized separately on the quote.

Door Samples and the Custom Paint Program

Screens flatten every finish on this page, matte and textured ones most of all, so we treat the door sample as the cheapest insurance in the process. A single-finish Fabuwood door sample is currently $25 with our discount applied, in any collection and finish we carry; a boxed 10×10 Kitchen Door Sample set covering a whole benchmark layout in one finish runs about $1,625. What to Watch Out For, and Who Should Skip It

Here is where we see buyers misjudge the line. First, painted five-piece doors will eventually show hairline lines at the joints — Galaxy, Fusion, and Echo in a paint finish are all subject to it, and it is excluded from the warranty; if that would bother you, a stained finish or a slab (Nexus, Luxe) is the better choice. Second, Nexus is a one-finish collection; a matte slab in anything but Frost means Luna or a custom paint color. Third, the two oak veneers on Galaxy and Luna cost about 20% more than the painted finishes, which a quote in Frost will not show you — ask for the finish you actually want. Fourth, made-to-order collections are a 3–5 week wait before freight; only Galaxy ships in a week.

And who should skip Fabuwood Allure altogether: buyers whose inspiration photos are handle-less gloss or textured European slabs, because that look lives on the frameless Catalina lines; anyone who needs custom dimensions beyond the factory modification list, because this is a semi-custom line with fixed widths; and anyone whose project calls for installation as part of the purchase, because we design, quote, and ship nationwide but do not install. If you want frameless on a plywood box, that is the Ovela conversation; if budget is the binding constraint, Quest or Value Premium exist for a reason and we will quote them honestly.
