Kitchen Cabinets in St. Petersburg & Clearwater

Cabinets for Pinellas County’s older houses and beach condos, designed in 3D for free and delivered by tracked freight.

Kitchen cabinets in St. Petersburg go into some of the oldest houses in Florida’s big metros: the median St. Pete home was built in 1970, and more than a third date from before 1960. We are an online cabinet dealer based in New Jersey with no Pinellas showroom. We draw your kitchen in 3D for free, send a line-by-line quote in 24–48 hours and ship the cabinets by tracked freight.

The 49% rule

Unincorporated Pinellas County treats a home as substantially damaged when repairs cost 49% or more of its value without the land, and says all improvements are subject to the same 49% structure-value rule. Its cost list includes interior and exterior finishes, so new cabinets count. In a flood zone, crossing that line means bringing the building up to current flood code, so get the building department’s numbers before you order.[5]

HB 803 in unincorporated Pinellas

The county applies the state’s under-$7,500 permit exemption only outside flood zones and only to work with no gas, electrical, mechanical, plumbing or structural scope, and requires a stamped, approved exemption request kept on the job site. St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo and the other cities issue their own permits.[6]

Fitting a mid-century kitchen

Kitchens from the 1950s and 1960s are often small and closed off, with plaster or block walls that are rarely flat. Measure every wall at two heights and give us the window and door trim widths; our designers plan fillers and scribe strips so stock boxes fit. On block walls, ask whoever hangs the cabinets which anchors they will use before you pick heavy 42-inch uppers.

How delivery works in St. Petersburg

Pinellas orders come by freight carrier to the curb, or with a liftgate when you ask in advance. Streets in St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island and Clearwater Beach can be tight for a truck; flag that on the order and the carrier can plan for it when it calls ahead.

Shipping clocks: 7–10 days for KCD, Tribeca and J&K, about 2 weeks for Fabuwood and Mantra stock, typically 4–6 weeks for a built-to-order line like Diamond or Decorá, then about 1–7 business days on the truck. Assembled lines arrive boxed on shrink-wrapped pallets; RTA lines arrive flat-packed. Store the cartons indoors in air conditioning until the old kitchen is out.

Flat-pack, assembled and wholesale pricing in Pinellas

Pinellas housing comes in three shapes, and each takes cabinets differently. Old St. Pete bungalows have narrow doors and tight kitchens, where flat-packed cartons go in more easily than built boxes. Clearwater has a large condo side: 31.4% of its homes are in buildings of 20 or more units, so dock and elevator rules apply. In Largo, 28.0% of homes are mobile homes, where floor strength and ceiling height matter before finish.[2][7][8]

Ready-to-assemble saves on freight and price but costs time, about 20–30 minutes per cabinet by This Old House’s count. If your installer bills by the hour, compare that with the assembled price for the same layout.[9]

Common questions

Does Pinellas County count new cabinets toward the 49% rule?

Yes. The county’s estimate includes interior finishes, and FEMA lists built-in cabinets as an included cost. If your home is in a flood zone and the total reaches 49% of the structure’s value, the county requires full flood-code compliance.

What sales tax applies to cabinets delivered in Pinellas?

Seven percent for 2026: 6% state plus Pinellas’s 1% surtax. A delivery across the bay in Hillsborough carries 7.5%.

Can you deliver to St. Pete Beach or Clearwater Beach?

Yes. Tell us about narrow streets, parking limits or a condo dock, and the freight booking will account for them.

Do you sell cabinets in Largo?

We deliver to Largo and every Pinellas city by freight, but we have no store there or anywhere in Florida. Design, quotes and door samples all come to you.

Does the 49% rule apply in Clearwater and Largo?

Not automatically. The 49% figure on this page is unincorporated Pinellas County’s. Clearwater, Largo and St. Petersburg run their own building departments, so ask the city which threshold applies to your address before you order.
