Galaxy Dove tall cabinets: building the appliance wall around the fridge and the ovens
Reviewed September 2026 · Captivating Cabinets
Tall cabinets rarely stand alone. In most layouts they gather on one wall with the refrigerator and the wall ovens, and Galaxy Dove tall cabinets are therefore the pieces that sit closest to the most stainless steel in the room. That makes the tall run a different planning problem from the bases and the uppers: it is built around appliances whose sizes are fixed before a single cabinet is chosen, it has to line up at the top, and it is the largest surface of the off-white anywhere in the kitchen. This page builds that wall left to right — fridge surround, pantry, oven tower — with the depth and height decisions and the prices along the way.
One wall, three appliances: the order the decisions get made in

Bases are planned from the walls and uppers from the ceiling; the tall run is planned from the appliances, and in a fixed order. The refrigerator comes first, because its width and depth set the surround. The wall oven comes second, because its rough-in cutout decides which oven tower is even possible. Only then does the pantry get sized, into whatever wall is left between them. Do it in any other order and the pantry ends up 3″ too wide for the oven you wanted.
| Position | What goes there | Codes and prices |
|---|---|---|
| Fridge surround | Refrigerator wall cabinet above, refrigerator end panels either side | GD W361224 $370.50 to W362424 $578.50 · GD REP1296 panel $224.25 |
| Beside the fridge | Double-door pantry, 24″ deep to match the fridge line | GD TP242496 $1,397.50 · TP302496 $1,807.00 · TP362496 $2,343.25 |
| Oven tower | Single, double or combo oven cabinet, 33″ wide | GD OC3396S $1,920.75 · OC3396D $1,748.50 · OC3396C $1,836.25 |
| Broom or utility slot | Single-door pantry, 15″ or 18″ | GD TP151296 $955.50 · TP181296 $1,121.25 |
| Closing to the wall | A tall filler, painted to match | Filler page — ordered against the tower height |
Every price is the discounted figure the grid showed at review; the grid on this page is the number that counts. Note the odd fact in the oven row: the single-oven tower costs more than the double at every height. It is a catalog quirk rather than an error here, and it does not change which one you need.
The fridge surround: where the off-white meets the most stainless
A refrigerator is the largest appliance surface in the room and it stands at eye level beside a tall cabinet, so the surround is where a cabinet colour is judged against metal or white enamel most directly. Stainless is the easy case: the warm white beside brushed steel looks composed, warmer than Frost does in the same spot. A white refrigerator is the harder one, because the enamel is a brighter, cooler white than the door and the difference shows in daylight. It is a smaller gap than the same appliance opens beside Linen, but it is real, and the fix is a panel-ready model with Dove panels, or a stainless finish.
The surround itself is two refrigerator end panels — GD REP1296 at $224.25 is the 12″ × 96″ panel; there is also a lighter GD RFPEC at $97.50, so check its listed size against your fridge depth before choosing — and a 24″-deep refrigerator wall cabinet above, chosen to fill the gap between fridge and ceiling. Set the pantry beside it at 24″ deep too, and the whole run stands in one plane from the fridge face back; a 12″-deep pantry beside a 24″-deep surround leaves a 12″ step that shows the pantry’s side.
24-inch or 12-inch deep pantry: pick the depth on what it holds and what it stands beside

Searches for a 24 inch deep pantry cabinet and a 12 inch deep pantry cabinet land on the same page, and the price difference between them is small enough to ignore — GD TP241296 at $1,365.00 against TP242496 at $1,397.50, about $32 for double the volume. So depth is decided by use and by the run. On an appliance wall the 24″ box wins on both counts: it holds small appliances and bulk, and it lines up with the fridge surround and the oven tower so the run is one plane. Its cost is the hidden back row, and the answer to that is roll-out drawers ordered with the cabinet — GD ROD-B18-BLUM-E at $201.50 for an 18″ width — rather than fitted later into a loaded 96″ box.
The 12″ pantry is the everyday-food cabinet: one row deep, every jar visible, and the better choice when it stands away from the appliance wall against a run of 24″ bases, where its shallow footprint keeps a walkway clear. If it does stand beside a deeper cabinet, the exposed step of its side wants a matching tall panel.
| Width | Doors | Code | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15″ | One | GD TP152496 | $981.50 |
| 18″ | One | GD TP182496 | $1,150.50 |
| 24″ | Two | GD TP242496 | $1,397.50 |
| 30″ | Two | GD TP302496 | $1,807.00 |
| 36″ | Two | GD TP362496 | $2,343.25 |
The 15″ and 18″ single-door towers are the broom closets and the slot beside a fridge; 24″ and up are the food pantries. Two 18″ towers do not beat one 36″ — the pair costs $2,301.00 against $2,343.25 for the 36″, near enough the same money for two separate cabinets, which is only the better buy when you genuinely want two jobs done, one for brooms and one for food.
Oven cabinets: single, double or combo, and the height ladder
Every oven tower in this finish is 33″ wide and 24″ deep; what you choose is the cutout and the height. Single (S) takes one wall oven with storage above and below; double (D) takes two stacked; combo (C) takes an oven with a microwave or warming drawer above it. The cutout is cut to a named appliance, so the model number and its rough-in sheet come before the cabinet — a change of oven after the order is a new cabinet, not an adjustment.
| Height | Single (S) | Double (D) | Combo (C) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 84″ | $1,758.25 | $1,599.00 | $1,677.00 |
| 90″ | $1,839.50 | $1,673.75 | $1,755.00 |
| 93″ | $1,842.75 | $1,677.00 | $1,758.25 |
| 96″ | $1,920.75 | $1,748.50 | $1,836.25 |
Read across for the cutout, down for the ceiling. The three columns stay in the same order at every height, and 84″ to 96″ costs about $150 to $165 in each. A cooktop-over-oven layout skips the tower entirely: GD BOC30, a 30″ base oven cabinet at $598.00 on the base cabinet page, puts a single oven under the counter and keeps the appliance out of the eye-level band.
Lining up the top: 84, 90, 93 or 96 against the ceiling
Three tall masses on one wall have to share a top line, and the uppers on the adjacent wall have to meet it. On an 8′ ceiling, 96″ meets the ceiling flat with no room for crown; 90″ leaves 6″ and lines up with 36″ uppers under crown; 84″ leaves a foot and matches 30″ uppers stopping short. The 93″ height exists for ceilings that measure a little under a true 96″ — measure at the tower’s exact spot, since ceilings are rarely level end to end. On a 9′ ceiling, 96″ with crown above it lines up with 42″ uppers.
Whichever height, the fridge box, the pantry and the oven tower are ordered at the same one, and the crown that runs across all three is ordered by the foot against it. A tower proud of its neighbours by 2″ is the most visible mistake on this wall, and it is caught on paper for free.
The tall cabinet is also the heaviest carton on the truck and the one that has to come through the door in one piece — factory-built, dowel-and-glue with pocket screws, not assembled on site. Measure the door, the hall and the turn, then plan to set it plumb and screw it to studs before it is loaded. The measuring checklist has the delivery-path numbers, and a free 3D design sets the whole appliance wall against your ceiling. Common questions
- What sizes are Fabuwood Dove pantry cabinets?
- 15″ and 18″ single-door; 24″, 30″ and 36″ double-door; 12″ or 24″ deep; 84″, 90″, 93″ or 96″ high. The oven towers are 33″ wide and 24″ deep at the same four heights.
- How do you build cabinets around a refrigerator?
- A 24″-deep refrigerator wall cabinet above (GD W361224 to W362424 for a 36″ fridge), a refrigerator end panel on each exposed side (GD REP1296, $224.25), and a 24″-deep pantry beside it so the run stands in one plane. Measure the fridge with its hinge clearance first.
- Is a 24 inch deep pantry better than a 12 inch?
- On an appliance wall, yes: it lines up with the fridge and the oven tower and holds twice as much, for about $32 more at 24″ wide. Order roll-outs with it so the back row is reachable. The 12″ pantry is the better everyday-food cabinet when it stands on its own.
- What are the dimensions of a Fabuwood double oven cabinet?
- 33″ wide, 24″ deep, and 84″, 90″, 93″ or 96″ high — GD OC3384D at $1,599.00 up to OC3396D at $1,748.50 — with two stacked openings cut to a named appliance. Bring the oven’s rough-in sheet before ordering.
- Does an off-white pantry look grey next to a stainless fridge?
- Not next to stainless — the warm white reads composed beside brushed steel. It can drift grey if the fridge wall is dim and lit with cool bulbs, which is common on the wall furthest from the window. A warm 2700–3000K light over that run keeps the door the colour you sampled.
- How much does a Galaxy Dove pantry cabinet cost?
- From $871.00 for the 15″ × 12″ × 84″ GD TP151284 to $2,548.00 for the 36″ × 24″ × 93″ GD TP362493 at discounted grid prices; the 36″ × 96″ tower is $2,314.00 at 12″ deep or $2,343.25 at 24″. Oven towers run $1,599.00 to $1,920.75. Same price as Frost and Linen.
