Four ways to fit out a 30-inch vanity, and where the Galaxy Cobblestone U-shaped sink base sits among them
Reviewed September 2026 · Captivating Cabinets
The 30″ opening is the most common vanity size there is, and in this finish there are four ways to fill it. The Galaxy Cobblestone U-shaped sink base is one of them, though not in the way its name suggests: GC UVTCPO-30 BLUM, $646.75, is not a cabinet but a notched pull-out with a waste bin that goes inside the 30″ vanity sink base. Here is the whole ladder, priced, so you can see which rung you actually need.
Four ways to spec the same 30″ vanity
All four stand the same 34½″ tall in the same finish. They differ in what is behind the doors and what you pay for it.
| Configuration | Parts | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bare sink base | GC VSB30-34 | $461.50 | Guest baths, rentals, a tight budget. |
| Full-height door base | GC VB30FD | $461.50 | No false drawer front; a taller, cleaner door face on a dark run. |
| Sink base plus notched pull-out | GC VSB30-34 + GC UVTCPO-30 BLUM | $1,108.25 | A daily bathroom with low plumbing and a bin you want out of sight. |
| Sink and drawer combo | GC VSD30DL or DR | $757.25 | Drawers beside the bowl, for people who store more than they bin. |
Two things stand out. The pull-out version is the most expensive rung by some distance. And the combo gets you real drawers for less, as long as your trap sits where a narrower sink compartment can take it. Confirm that with your designer, since the catalog does not publish the combo's sink-side clear width.
A bathroom vanity with a trash can inside: what the U-shaped unit is

Decoded, UVTCPO-30 BLUM spells out the shape, the room, the bin, the motion, the width and the runner maker. A slot is cut through the middle of the tray so it can slide around the drain. Dealer copy lists a waste container, four movable dividers and a non-skid liner, riding the Tandem plus Blumotion hardware found under every Galaxy drawer. They disagree about the bin's capacity, so get that figure on your confirmation before you buy liners.
It works in the 30″ sink base and nowhere else in this finish. It needs the trap high enough, or far enough to one side, for the arms of the U to pass it. A low, centred remodel drain is the case to fix at rough-in, not after the cabinet is set.
Why a hidden bin suits a dark vanity
A dark gray-brown vanity is a strong, solid shape in a bathroom. A white or chrome bin on the floor next to it is the thing the eye lands on, far more than beside a white vanity, where it blends in. Putting the bin inside keeps the run clean, and the tray brings it out to the door line where you can see into it.
One more point in favour: the tray catches drips. On a dark cabinet floor water is easy to miss until it marks, and a liner you can lift out and wipe is easier to keep an eye on than the base of the box.
Choosing your rung
- Guest bath or rental: the bare sink base, and a small bin on the floor.
- Primary bath, plumbing high or offset, and you want a hidden bin: sink base plus the U-shaped pull-out.
- Primary bath where storage matters more than the bin: the combo, if the plumbing allows.
- A tall, calm door face on a long dark run: the full-height door base, and plan the interior separately.
Lead time on all of these runs 7 days to 3 weeks, delivered assembled. For a 24″ box the flat-floored organizer pull-out is the matching part, and the vanities page lists every box above. The rest of the interiors are on the vanity accessories page.
Common questions
- Do I buy the U-shaped unit instead of a vanity?
- No, you buy it as well as one. The U-shaped part is a notched tray with a waste bin; the box it slides into, GC VSB30-34, is ordered from the vanities page as its own line.
- What does UVTCPO-30 BLUM mean?
- Read left to right: a U profile, for a vanity, holding a trash can, on a pull-out, sized to 30″, riding Blum hardware. The U names the gap in the tray that straddles the drain.
- What is cheaper, a sink base with a pull-out or a sink and drawer combo?
- The combo. A 30″ sink base with the U-shaped pull-out is $1,108.25; the 30″ sink and drawer combo is $757.25. The combo trades the hidden bin for drawers.
- Does the U-shaped pull-out include a trash can?
- Yes, according to dealer copy, along with four movable dividers and a grippy liner. Nobody publishes a capacity we trust, so get it on your confirmation.
- Will it fit around my plumbing?
- If the drain is high on the wall or offset to one side, usually yes. A low, centred trap blocks the arms of the U; move it while the wall is open.
- Is there a version for a 36-inch vanity?
- Not in this finish. It is made for the 30″ sink base only. For a 36″ vanity, the sink and drawer combo at $783.25 is the usual route to more storage.
