Navy is one of the few kitchen colours that looks just as right in the back hall. Indigo tall cabinets come in the same pantry and oven grid as every Galaxy finish, 15″ to 36″ wide, 12″ or 24″ deep and 84″ to 96″ tall, and people use them in mudrooms and laundry rooms as often as beside the fridge. This page prices a mudroom wall and a laundry wall, then covers the kitchen tower in a two-tone room, oven cabinets, the full price matrix and how to finish the sides of a navy tower.
A navy mudroom wall, priced

A mudroom is hard on cabinets: wet boots, bags, a dog lead swung against a door. Navy suits the room because it hides the everyday grubbiness a white door shows at hand height. The trade-off is the one covered on the base cabinet page: chips and scuffs at floor level show pale. A classic layout is two tall cabinets with a bench between them.
| Position | Line | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Left tower, 24″ wide, 24″ deep, 84″ tall | GI TP242484 | $1,270.75 |
| Bench, 36″ wide, with drawers for shoes | GI DBS36 | $425.75 |
| Right tower, same as left | GI TP242484 | $1,270.75 |
| Tall end skins for both exposed sides | GI SK TALL, two | $338.00 |
| Total, before hooks, cushion and toe kick | $3,305.25 |
The towers are shelved pantry boxes. For coats, the usual approach is hooks on the wall above the bench rather than a rail inside a cabinet. Ask your designer how the tall boxes can be fitted out if you want hanging space inside, because the catalog lists them as pantries. The 24″ depth takes bags, helmets and a vacuum. The same towers 12″ deep (GI TP241284, $1,241.50) suit a narrow back hall where 24″ would block the door.
The laundry room: a broom tower and a utility sink
A laundry room needs three things: somewhere to stand a mop and an ironing board, a sink, and a shelf over the machines. A navy version reads as a finished room rather than a utility space, and it hides the grey of lint and dust better than white.
- Single-door pantry at 18″ wide and 24″ deep for brooms and the board: GI TP182484 at $1,053.00, or the 15″ GI TP152484 at $897.00 where the gap is tight.
- Sink base at 30″ for a utility sink: GI SB30 at $461.50. Choose the sink first, as in the kitchen.
- A 30″ wall cabinet over the sink, GI W3030 at $383.50, and over the machines a 36″-wide box sized to clear the lids or the stacked unit, from GI W3615 at $263.25 to GI W3630 at $422.50.
Tower, sink base and one upper come to $1,898.00 before the counter. Every box ships assembled, so measure the laundry door and any turn in the hall before ordering a 24″-deep tower. The dimension checklist covers the delivery route, and the space-saving guide shows pull-outs that fit a tall box.
In the kitchen, the tall cabinet crosses the split line
In a two-tone kitchen with navy lowers and light uppers, a tall pantry is both base and upper at once, so it has to take one colour or the other. Each choice has a logic.
| Tower colour | What it does | When it works |
|---|---|---|
| Navy | Bookends the run and carries the navy up to the ceiling at one point | At the end of a run, away from the window, in a room with enough light |
| The upper colour (Dove, Frost or Linen) | Keeps the top line light and continuous; the navy stays low everywhere | Most rooms, and any tower beside the fridge |
| Wood, or a stained Galaxy finish | Makes the tower a separate piece of furniture | When it stands apart from the run, on its own wall |
The mistake to avoid is a navy tower that sits in the middle of a light upper run. It breaks the top line with a dark block and looks like an ordering error. If the kitchen is navy all round, the question does not arise, but the tower is then the largest navy surface in the room, so put it where the light falls on it. Order the tower’s visible sides in whichever colour it takes: a tall end skin is $169.00, or $126.75 for a 12″-deep tower.
Oven towers in navy against stainless
Stainless ovens set into a navy tower look good. The cool metal against the dusky blue is a calmer contrast than stainless in white. The oven cabinets are 33″ wide and 24″ deep at 84″, 90″, 93″ and 96″ tall. The double oven runs from GI OC3384D at $1,599.00 to GI OC3396D at $1,748.50. The combo oven (oven with a microwave opening above) runs $1,677.00 to $1,836.25. The single oven runs $1,758.25 to $1,920.75, and is the most expensive of the three at every height.
Each cabinet is cut for a named appliance, so have the oven model and its cutout dimensions before the order goes in. If you would rather keep stainless low, a GI BOC30 base oven cabinet ($598.00) puts a single oven under the counter in a navy base run.
Every pantry size in this finish, by width and height
The pantry grid in one table, 12″-deep versions, at displayed prices. The 24″-deep version of each costs $26 to $36 more, with one exception: the 36″ × 93″ tower, which jumps $78.
| Width | 84″ | 90″ | 93″ | 96″ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15″, one door | $871.00 | $913.25 | $913.25 | $955.50 |
| 18″, one door | $1,020.50 | $1,079.00 | $1,075.75 | $1,121.25 |
| 24″, two doors | $1,241.50 | $1,296.75 | $1,306.50 | $1,365.00 |
| 30″, two doors | $1,443.00 | $1,612.00 | $1,660.75 | $1,781.00 |
| 36″, two doors | $1,677.00 | $2,002.00 | $2,470.00 | $2,314.00 |
Two things to note. At 36″ wide the 93″ tower is listed above the 96″ one ($2,470.00 against $2,314.00), and the same happens at 24″ deep ($2,548.00 against $2,343.25). Treat that as a catalog quirk and confirm it before choosing 93″. Also, two 18″ towers against one 36″ is not a fixed trade. At 84″ the pair costs more ($2,041.00 against $1,677.00), and at 90″ it still does. At 93″ and 96″ the pair is cheaper, because the wide tower jumps at those heights. Choose on use first: a pair gives two separate cupboards, one for food and one for brooms. The sizing guide matches each height to a ceiling.
Finishing a navy tower: skins, fillers and the top
A tall navy box shows its side from the floor to the ceiling, so any unfinished edge is obvious. Put a tall end skin (GI SK TALL, $169.00) on every exposed side. Where the tower meets a wall, use a tall filler (GI TF396, $84.50 for 3″ × 96″) scribed to the wall. If the tower stops short of the ceiling, crown in navy closes the top. For a more formal look, a tall pantry pilaster (GI PP-TP96, $464.75) at the front edge makes the tower look built in.
A 96″ assembled tower is the largest carton on the truck and the one most likely to be damaged when it is carried in. Measure the path into a mudroom or laundry carefully. When it arrives, check the long edges in good light, because a chip in navy on a 96″ door is hard to miss. Send the plan to the design team for a drawing in 24–48 hours. For construction and the colour itself, see the Indigo overview.
Common questions
- Are navy cabinets good for a mudroom?
- Yes. Navy hides the everyday marks a white cabinet shows at hand height. Chips at floor level show pale, so keep touch-up on hand. Two 24″ × 24″ × 84″ towers and a 36″ drawer bench come to $3,305.25 in this finish, end skins included.
- What size tall cabinet for brooms and an ironing board?
- An 18″-wide, 24″-deep single-door pantry, GI TP182484 at $1,053.00, or the 15″ GI TP152484 at $897.00 in a tight gap. Confirm the interior fit-out with your designer, since these are listed as shelved pantries.
- Should the pantry be navy in a two-tone kitchen?
- Usually it should match the uppers, so the top line stays light. A navy tower works as a bookend at the end of a run in a bright room. Avoid a navy tower in the middle of a light upper run.
- How much is a navy pantry cabinet?
- From $871.00 for a 15″ × 12″ × 84″ GI TP151284 to $2,548.00 for the 36″ × 24″ × 93″ GI TP362493. A 36″ × 96″ tower is $2,314.00 at 12″ deep or $2,343.25 at 24″ deep.
- What are the sizes of the Galaxy Indigo oven cabinets?
- 33″ wide and 24″ deep, at 84″, 90″, 93″ and 96″ tall, in single, double and combo versions from $1,599.00 to $1,920.75. Each one is cut for a specific appliance, so have the model number ready.
