A Fabuwood Galaxy Indigo sink base cabinet is the same assembled 34½″ × 24″ box as every other Galaxy finish, in ten widths priced $386.75 to $572.00. What changes is everything around it. A muted slate navy is a colour rather than a neutral, and the sink is where five other decisions land within arm's reach of it: the counter, the bowl, the faucet, the dishwasher beside it and the bulb overhead. Get those to agree and the navy looks deliberate; let them drift and it looks like the paint was the mistake.
Five choices meet at a navy sink, and the order to make them in

With a white or gray door the sink wall can be assembled piece by piece, because almost anything sits comfortably against a neutral. Navy blue shaker cabinets do not give you that slack. Each of the items below either supports the blue or argues with it, and the later ones depend on the earlier ones, so decide them in this sequence rather than in the order the showrooms happen to open.
| Decide | What a slate navy wants | The version that fights it |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Counter | A white or warm-white quartz, often with soft gray veining; honed white marble; butcher block if the room already has oak | A busy speckled granite, or a blue-gray stone that half-matches the paint |
| 2. Bowl | Stainless undermount, or white fireclay if the counter is white | A black composite bowl, which disappears into the door below it |
| 3. Faucet and pull metal | Brass or champagne bronze for warmth; polished nickel for a crisper room | Three different metals in one glance |
| 4. Dishwasher face | Stainless, matching the bowl and the other appliances | A white or black appliance door interrupting a navy run |
| 5. Bulb colour | 3000K to 3500K under the uppers and over the sink | 2700K or warmer, which pushes the paint toward mud or violet |
The counter goes first because it is the largest surface touching the paint and the hardest to change. The bulb goes last only because it is the cheapest to swap, not because it matters least: a navy that looked right on the sample board in daylight can go flat and faintly purple under a very warm lamp in the evening. Put a $35.00 door sample under the fixture you plan to buy before either is ordered.
Ten boxes from $386.75, and what each false front carries
Width is chosen the ordinary way: the box wants roughly three inches more than the outside of the bowl, and a disposal or a pull-out bin under one side pushes you a size up. On navy there is one extra thing to plan for each width, which is the hardware on the false front. That panel does not open, but it sits at eye height from the room and a bare stretch of dark paint across a 36″ box reads as a gap in the pull line that runs along the drawer bases either side.
| Width | SKU | Price today | Typical sink | False-front hardware |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 21″ | GI SB21 | $386.75 | Bar or prep bowl | One knob, centred, or none |
| 24″ | GI SB24 | $403.00 | Small single bowl, no disposal | One knob |
| 27″ | GI SB27 | $442.00 | 24″ bowl with a disposal | One pull |
| 30″ | GI SB30 | $461.50 | 27″ single bowl | Two knobs, one per panel |
| 33″ | GI SB33 / GI SB33SDF | $468.00 | 30″ bowl | Two knobs, or one long pull on the SDF |
| 36″ | GI SB36 / GI SB36SDF | $490.75 | 33″ bowl, disposal and bin | Two knobs, or one long pull on the SDF |
| 39″ | GI SB39 | $526.50 | Large single or offset double | Two pulls |
| 42″ | GI SB42 | $572.00 | Double bowl with a filter tank | Two pulls |
The hardware column is a suggestion, not a spec: the point is that on navy the false front should carry the same metal, at the same height, as the drawer fronts beside it. The SDF versions at 33″ and 36″ are a single panel rather than two and cost the same as the split versions, so choose by the neighbour. A three-drawer base next door has one top drawer and one pull; match it with the SDF. For a bathroom, the vanity sink bases are the lower, shallower boxes.
Brass, nickel or black against a dusky navy
The faucet is the largest piece of metal in the kitchen that is not an appliance, and on a sink base it sits directly above the door. Against this paint the finishes behave quite differently. Brushed brass and champagne bronze are the classic partner for navy because the warm metal lifts a cool colour and makes it look richer. Polished nickel and chrome keep things cooler and crisper, and they suit a room with stainless appliances and a pure white counter. Stainless on its own is the neutral choice that commits to nothing.
Matte black is the one to test before assuming. Indigo is dark but greyed rather than deep, so a black pull on it has little contrast and reads from across the room as a small hole in the door rather than as hardware. On a white perimeter that same black looks sharp. If you want black somewhere, it usually belongs on the lighter cabinets in a two-tone plan and not on the navy ones.
The door you stand against: scuffs and chips on an opaque paint
Nobody spends more time pressed up against a cabinet than the person at the sink. Shoes hit the toe kick and the bottom rail, a hip leans on the false front, the trash bag gets dragged out past the door edge. On a saturated paint those contacts show in a specific way: a chip that reaches the primer or the wood reads as a pale fleck, and a rubber scuff leaves a lighter smear across the rail. Fingerprints and small water marks, by contrast, hide far better on navy than on a white door.
Two things help. Keep a touch-up kit on hand — GIN-TOUCH-UP-KIT is $62.40, and on an opaque colour a dab over a chip disappears more completely than it would on a stained finish, because there is no grain to match. And give the bay a floor that can take a drip: the Indigo under-sink mat is $156.00, and tilt-out trays in 11″, 14″ and 24″ widths are $162.50 each on the accessories page; ask your designer which tray suits which box. Wipe the paint with a soft damp cloth, never an abrasive pad, as the care guide explains.
Not a bowl on a straight run?
An apron-front sink needs its own box with a dropped front: the farm sink cabinet in this navy runs $806.00 to $825.50. A sink set across a corner goes in the complete 36″ diagonal sink base at $617.50, or, when an installer is building the corner cavity on site, behind the diagonal sink front at $149.50. The drawer and door bases that flank the sink are under base cabinets, and the whole palette is on the Galaxy Indigo collection page. If you are still deciding which cabinets should be blue at all, a free 3D design comes back in 24–48 hours with the colour drawn in.
Common questions
- What countertop goes with navy blue cabinets at the sink?
- A white or warm-white quartz, often with soft gray veining, is the pairing most navy kitchens use, and honed white marble works for the same reason. Butcher block suits a room that already has white oak in it. Avoid busy speckled granite and any blue-gray stone that sits close to the paint.
- Does brass or chrome look better with navy cabinets?
- Brass and champagne bronze warm a navy up and are the classic choice; polished nickel or chrome gives a cooler, crisper look beside stainless appliances. Either works if it is used consistently. Matte black has little contrast against a greyed navy like Indigo and tends to read as a hole in the door.
- Do navy cabinets show scratches and chips?
- Chips that reach below the paint show as a pale fleck, and scuffs on the bottom rail show as a lighter smear. Fingerprints and water marks hide better than on white. The Indigo touch-up kit, GIN-TOUCH-UP-KIT at $62.40, covers small chips well because the finish is an opaque colour with no grain to match.
- Which Indigo sink base fits a 30 inch undermount sink?
- The 33″ box, GI SB33 at $468.00, or the single-panel GI SB33SDF at the same price. The cabinet should be about three inches wider than the outside of the bowl; if a disposal and a bin both need to share the bay, move up to the 36″.
- Should the dishwasher next to navy cabinets be stainless?
- In most navy kitchens, yes. Stainless matches the sink bowl and the other appliances and sits quietly beside the paint, while a white or black appliance door breaks up the blue run. Match it to the bowl rather than to the cabinet.
- How much is a Galaxy Indigo sink base, and does it come assembled?
- From $386.75 for the 21″ GI SB21 to $572.00 for the 42″ GI SB42. Every width arrives assembled, with a ½″ veneered plywood box, the five-piece shaker door and Blum soft-close hinges already hung.
