One bin or two: the Galaxy Indigo U-shaped sink base in a navy double vanity

In a primary bath, this finish usually turns up as a double vanity: two sinks, brass taps, a white top, and a long run of navy doors and drawers. The Galaxy Indigo U-shaped sink base, GI UVTCPO-30 BLUM at $646.75, is not a cabinet despite the name. It is a notched pull-out with a waste bin that goes inside a 30″ vanity sink base and travels around the pipes. In a two-sink room that raises two questions nobody answers for a single vanity: which double builds give it a cabinet to go in, and whether both sinks need one.
The one cabinet it is built for
The code spells it out: U-shaped, vanity, trash can, pull-out, 30″, on Blum runners. The product handle calls it a tip-out tray and the title calls it a sink base, and neither is right, so read the code. The cabinet it fits is the 30″ vanity sink base, GI VSB30-34, at $461.50. Listings describe a waste container, four dividers that move without tools and a non-skid liner, but they disagree about the bin’s capacity, so ask your designer to confirm it on the order.
That 30″-only fact is what shapes a double vanity. Indigo’s sink bases also come at 21″, 24″, 27″, 33″, 36″ and 42″, and none of those takes this unit.
Building a navy double vanity so the organizer has a home

Four ways to build a two-sink Indigo vanity, with the cabinet cost of each and where the U-shaped unit can go.
| Build | Cabinets | Cabinet cost | Room for the organizer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two 30″ sink bases, 60″ wide | 2 × GI VSB30-34 | $923.00 | Under either sink, or both. |
| Two 30″ sink bases with a 12″ tower between, 72″ wide | 2 × GI VSB30-34 + GI VB12FD | $1,251.25 | Under either sink. The tower can take the grooming pull-out. |
| One 60″ double-bowl combo | GI VSD60DOUBLE | $1,046.50 | Not published. Ask your designer whether the sink sections take it before planning on one. |
| Two 36″ sink bases, 72″ wide | 2 × GI VSB36-34 | $981.50 | None. Neither box is 30″. |
The combo is the tidiest-looking build, with drawers already built in, but it is the one where this organizer is an unknown. If a pull-out bin under a sink matters to you, the two-30s build is the safe choice.
Do both sinks in a double vanity need a trash pull-out?
Usually not. Most bathrooms need one bin, not two, and two of these units cost $1,293.50. Put the one under the sink nearest the toilet and the door, where tissues and packaging actually get thrown away. Give the other sink base something cheaper, or leave its floor clear for towels and cleaning supplies, which a plain cabinet holds perfectly well.
Two make sense in one situation: two people with separate routines who both want sorted storage under their own bowl, and a budget that has already covered the top, the taps and the pulls. Even then, it is worth asking whether the second sink would be better as a combo with drawers.
In what order
- Settle the double build from the table above, so the organizer sink has a 30″ box.
- Mark which sink gets it, and rough in that drain high or offset.
- Set the cabinets, run the water, then measure the opening width, the height under the trap and the distance from the trap to the side wall.
- Order the unit. It ships pre-assembled in about 2 weeks with the same limited lifetime warranty as the cabinets.
- Test the full pull-out before the top is templated.
The 12″ grooming tower is the insert for the middle cabinet in a 72″ build, and the Indigo vanities page lists every box above. The rest is on the vanity accessories page.
Common questions
- Is the Galaxy Indigo U-shaped sink base a cabinet?
- No. It is a notched pull-out organizer with a waste bin that fits inside a 30″ vanity sink base. The cabinet, GI VSB30-34, is a separate $461.50 line on the vanities page.
- Can I put a U-shaped organizer in a 60-inch double vanity?
- Yes, if the 60″ vanity is built from two 30″ sink bases. Whether it fits the sink sections of the one-piece GI VSD60DOUBLE combo is not published, so ask your designer before planning on it.
- Does a double vanity need two trash pull-outs?
- Rarely. One bin under the sink nearest the toilet and door serves most bathrooms. Two units cost $1,293.50, money usually better spent on the top, the taps or the pulls.
- Will it fit a 36-inch sink base?
- No. It is made for a 30″ box only. A double vanity built from two 36″ sink bases has nowhere for it.
- Where should the drain go for the organizer sink?
- High on the wall or offset to one side, so the arms of the U clear the trap. On a double vanity, only the sink that gets the organizer needs this.
- Does it come with a trash can?
- Listings describe an included waste container with four adjustable dividers and a non-skid liner. They disagree on capacity, so confirm the size on your order.
