The room’s one coloured piece: how a Galaxy Indigo side panel platform changes the way a navy vanity sits

In most of the bathrooms we draw in this finish, the vanity is the only thing in the room with colour in it. The tile is white, the top is white or a marble-look quartz, the walls are a warm white, and one navy cabinet carries the whole scheme. The Galaxy Indigo side panel listings are the part that decides how that one piece sits. They are not panels. All 42 of them are plinths that a vanity stands on, flat or with feet fitted, and the choice between a toe kick, a plinth and feet changes whether the navy reads as built-in cabinetry or as a piece of furniture someone carried into the room.
Why a “side panel” here is something the vanity stands on
The product photography shows a low base with the cabinet on top, and the catalogue letters say the same thing. SP and VP are the two platform profiles, shaker and Vera. The last letters name the foot: F for a flat platform, TF for taper feet, CF for cove feet. Our store titles translate those letters as “Flat”, “Tall” and “Shaker”, which is a machine reading of a code rather than a description of a part. A real end panel would be priced by the height and depth of the box it covers, and these are priced by the width of the vanity they carry.
So if you came for a finished end to hide the raw side of a vanity, that is a different line item your designer quotes against the cabinet. If you came for a navy vanity that looks like furniture, you are on the right page.
Toe kick, plinth or legs: three ways to set a navy vanity in a white bathroom
Each option puts a different amount of navy in the room and throws a different shadow at the floor. Priced here for a 36″ vanity, the most common single-sink width we draw in this colour.
| How it sits | Part under the box | Adds | What the navy does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recessed toe kick (standard box) | Nothing from this page | $0 | A dark block anchored to the floor by a strip of shadow. Reads as cabinetry, the way a kitchen base does. |
| Flat plinth | GI SPF V36 or GI VPF V36 | $253.50 | The colour runs unbroken to the floor. Heavier and more solid, closer to a chest of drawers than a cabinet. |
| Plinth on feet | GI SPTF, SPCF, VPTF or VPCF V36 | $422.50 | The navy lifts off the floor and the tile runs underneath. The lightest of the three, and the most furniture-like. |
The toe kick is not the lesser choice. In a bathroom already busy with a patterned floor, a patterned shower wall and a framed mirror, a plain navy block grounded by shadow is the calm element. The plinth and the feet earn their cost in plainer rooms, where the vanity has to carry the furniture feeling on its own.
Platform prices for each vanity width
The code families differ only in profile and foot, and profile costs nothing. Two prices per width, then: flat or footed, whichever foot you pick.
| Vanity it carries | Flat (SPF or VPF) | With feet (TF or CF) |
|---|---|---|
| V24, a 24″ single | $217.75 | $386.75 |
| V30, a 30″ single | $234.00 | $406.25 |
| V36, a 36″ single | $253.50 | $422.50 |
| V42, a 42″ single | $269.75 | $442.00 |
| V48, a 48″ single or combo | $289.25 | $455.00 |
| V60, a 60″ single or double | $321.75 | $490.75 |
| TP1821, the 18″ × 21″ bath tall | $409.50 | $578.50 |
Two quirks worth noticing. The platform list skips the 21″, 27″ and 33″ vanity widths the Indigo range also sells, so a vanity built from one of those boxes needs a conversation with your designer about which platform, if any, suits it. And the TP1821 platform for the narrow bath tall costs more than the 60″ one, for reasons nobody has published. If you are planning a matching navy linen tower beside the vanity, price that platform early.
Four decisions to make in this order
- Choose the hardware metal. Brass or gold is navy’s classic partner and changes how blue the cabinet reads; nickel and chrome cool it. The platform choice follows the mood that sets.
- Choose toe kick, plinth or feet from the table above, with the sample standing on your floor.
- Match the platform code to the vanity width, and have the finished counter height confirmed in writing.
- Set the vanity on its platform before the countertop is templated, never after.
The loose taper and cove feet are on their own page, the boxes are on the Indigo vanities page, and the full set of add-ons sits on the vanity accessories page. For the colour itself, the Galaxy Indigo collection is where to start.
Common questions
- Is a Galaxy Indigo side panel a finished end panel?
- No. The listing photographs and the catalogue letters both describe a platform the vanity stands on, flat or with feet. A finished end for an exposed cabinet side is a separate part your designer quotes against the cabinet’s height and depth.
- Does a navy vanity look better on legs or on a toe kick?
- In a small, plain bathroom, legs: the floor runs underneath and the navy mass shrinks. In a busy room with patterned tile, the toe kick is calmer. In a large primary bath, a flat plinth gives a wide navy vanity the weight to hold the wall.
- How much does a vanity platform with feet cost for a 36-inch vanity?
- The footed V36 platforms (GI SPTF, SPCF, VPTF or VPCF V36) are $422.50. The flat GI SPF or VPF V36 is $253.50. Profile does not change the price.
- Will a navy vanity make a small bathroom look smaller?
- Less than a black one would, because Indigo is a grayed, muted navy that recedes. Keep the top and walls white or warm white and consider feet, which show floor under the cabinet and make the room read larger.
- What countertop and hardware go with a navy vanity?
- The classic combination is a white marble-look quartz top with brass or gold hardware, which keeps the navy reading blue. Chrome and cool gray stone push it toward charcoal, which can work but looks colder.
- Is there a platform for a 27- or 33-inch vanity?
- Not in the Indigo platform listings, which run V24, V30, V36, V42, V48, V60 and TP1821. Ask your designer what suits a 21″, 27″ or 33″ box before ordering one of those widths expecting a plinth.
