Twenty-seven inches: rare in a kitchen, routine in a bathroom

Split this width by room and it stops looking odd. In a kitchen it is a leftover: nineteen boxes, none of them a pantry, none of them glazed, and most plans step straight past it from 24 to 30. In a bathroom it is a standard size with the full set of configurations, including one the wider widths have dropped. Which room you are in decides whether this page is a compromise or a first choice.
The bathroom list is complete, and one wider width’s is not

That last code is the reason to bookmark this width. There is no 30-inch and no 36-inch vanity drawer bank in the collection — the family runs 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27 and then jumps to 33. If your plan wants a full column of drawers beside a sink and the wall will take 27 inches, this is the widest one available until you get to 33.
In a kitchen it is an adjustment, not a choice
Five bases: $429.00 for the 12-inch-deep build, $442.00 for the full-height door, $442.00 again for the sink cabinet, $516.75 for the drawer-over-door box and $773.50 for the three-drawer bank. Ten wall units, six plain double-door boxes from $234.00 to $516.75 and four diagonal corner units from $539.50 to $682.50.
That is the whole kitchen inventory. No tall cabinet, no glass front, no hood, no blind corner, no open no-door box, no appliance cabinet of any kind, nothing decorative sized to it. Where a wall comes out at 27 inches, the usual move is either this box or a 24 plus a filler — and the box wins on both storage and appearance nearly every time.

The diagonal corner, and the insert that costs more than it
Four diagonal corner wall units sit at this width, GN WDC2730 through WDC2742, $539.50 to $682.50. They cut across an inside corner at 45 degrees, which turns the dead angle into a shallow but usable cupboard and gives the upper run a proper mitre instead of a butt joint.
What catches people out is the turntable. It is not in the cabinet. GNK LSW27 30 at $546.00 fits the 30-inch-high box and GNK LSW27 36/42 at $848.25 fits the taller pair — so the insert for the tall corner costs $165.75 more than the cabinet it goes inside. Decide on it at the drawing stage, because retro-fitting one means emptying the corner you just filled.
The cheap upgrade at this width
GNK ROD-B27 BLUM E at $217.75, or the taller H version at $266.50. A roll-out drops into the plain door base and gives you the back of the cabinet without kneeling, for about a quarter of the $331.50 it would cost to move up from GN B27FD to GN DB27.
The other quiet win is the shelf list. A spare base shelf is $74.75, a wall shelf $44.20, and the corner shelf for the diagonal box $139.75 — all in the matching finish, which is the only reason to buy them from the loose parts list rather than cutting your own.

- No. Tall cabinets are built at 15, 18, 24, 30 and 36 inches only. A 27-inch stretch of wall that needs floor-to-ceiling storage is usually solved with a 24-inch pantry and a 3-inch filler.

- Thirty-three inches, at $877.50. Below that the family runs 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 and 27 — there is no 30-inch version, which makes GN VDB27-34 at $802.75 the widest option under 33.
- Does a diagonal corner wall cabinet come with a lazy susan?
- No. The turntable is a separate line: $546.00 for the 30-inch-high cabinet and $848.25 for the 36 and 42-inch versions. Order it with the cabinet rather than afterwards.
- Should I use a 27 inch cabinet or a 24 plus a filler?
