The whole sink cabinet kit: Galaxy Pistachio Green tilt-out trays with the mat and the base they belong to

Reviewed September 2026 · Captivating Cabinets

A tilt-out tray is the smallest purchase on the accessory list and it is almost always bought alone, which is a pity, because it is one of three parts that together decide how well a sink cabinet survives. The sink base is the wettest box in any kitchen. On Galaxy Pistachio Green the tray turns its false front into a moving panel that is touched with wet hands every day, the under-sink mat protects the floor of the box where leaks start, and the base itself sets which of the two can be fitted at all. This page prices the three as a kit, and lists the sink fronts where a tray simply does not apply.

Two small parts, one flat price each

The trays come in 11, 14 and 24-inch lengths — GPG TILTOUT 11", 14" and 24" — and all three are $162.50. The length follows the false front on the sink base, not your preference, so the practical step is to give us the sink base code and let us pick the length. The tilt-out list has all three.

The second part is GPG UNDER SINK MAT at $156.00. It is a liner for the floor of the sink base, and it sits in the same cabinet as the tray and exists for the same reason: the sink base is where water goes when something goes slightly wrong. It is filed on the cabinet accessories list rather than beside the trays, so it is easy to miss.

The kit, priced across every sink base width

The floor of the sink base is where a slow leak shows first. A mat catches it before the cabinet does.

Add one tray and one mat to each sink base on this finish and the kit costs $318.50 over the cabinet, whatever the width. Here is the whole range, so you can see the sink cabinet as it will actually be bought.

GPG SB39$526.50$318.50$845.00
GPG SB42$572.00$318.50$890.50

On a 36-inch sink base the kit adds about two-thirds to the cabinet price. That sounds like a lot until it is set against what the mat is protecting. A sink base in this line is a ½″ veneered plywood box, which tolerates the odd drip better than particleboard does, but no cabinet floor enjoys standing water, and the damage from a slow leak is the most common reason a sink base is replaced long before the rest of the kitchen. Our cabinet lifespan guide covers how that usually happens. If only one of the two parts fits the budget, we would buy the mat first.

Sink fronts that cannot take a tray, and ones to ask about

A tilt-out needs a false front — the panel above the sink bowl that looks like a drawer and is not one. Three kinds of sink cabinet on this finish do not have an ordinary one.

Farmhouse sink cabinets

The farm sink cabinets — GPG FS30 at $806.00, FS33 at $815.75 and FS36 at $825.50 — are built for an apron-front sink whose exposed front replaces the false front entirely. There is nothing to tilt. The mat still applies and is, if anything, more useful, because an apron sink is often the kind people splash over.

Diagonal sink bases

GPG DSB36 and DSB36FD, both $617.50, sit across a corner with an angled face. Whether one of the three tray lengths suits their front is not stated; ask before ordering, and do not assume the 24-inch tray fits because the cabinet is wide.

Vanity sink bases

The vanity sink bases from GPG VSB21-34 at $422.50 to VSB42-34 at $542.75 are 34½ inches high, and the trays are listed as sink tilt-out trays without saying whether a vanity is meant. A bathroom tilt-out for toothbrushes and small bottles is a genuinely useful thing, so ask; we will confirm against the vanity code. For bathroom organisers that are listed for vanities, including a U-shaped sink-base pull-out at $646.75, see the vanity accessories.

The wettest painted face in the kitchen

Fit a tilt-out and the false front stops being a panel you never touch and becomes one you open several times a day, standing at the sink, usually with damp hands. That changes what it needs from you, and it is the one place on this page where the colour enters the decision.

A painted front beside a sink wants three habits. Dry it when it is splashed rather than leaving it to evaporate. Do not hang a wet tea towel over the edge of the sink cabinet door, because a cloth held against a painted edge for hours is the commonest way to spoil one. And clean with a soft cloth and mild soap only; our care guide lists what to avoid. None of this is special to green, but on a mid-tone colour a dull patch or a water mark along the top edge of the tray front is visible from across the room in a way it might not be on white.

There is one advantage to the colour here too. Galaxy’s door is a five-piece shaker with a solid wood frame, and on a front that is pushed by a hip or a knee as often as by a hand, a mid-tone hides the occasional scuff better than a bright white does. The false front is, in practice, the hardest-working door in the kitchen, and this finish is not a bad one to give that job to.

A sink in the island turns the tray to face the room

Many kitchens that use this green put it on the island, and many islands carry a prep sink or the main sink. That moves the sink base, and its false front, off the wall and into the middle of the room, where the front faces the aisle, the seating or the family room beyond. The tilt-out is then the most visible moving part in the kitchen, opened in full view of everyone at the counter.

Two consequences. The tray itself is more likely to be seen open, so keep what lives in it tidy and small; a sponge and a brush look fine, a tangle of worn scourers does not. And the kit matters more, not less, because an island sink base is usually plumbed through the floor, where a slow leak runs longer before anyone notices. Put the mat in an island sink base even if you skip it on the perimeter.

Size the sink base to the sink, then the tray follows

The chain of decisions runs one way: the sink you choose sets the minimum sink base width, the base sets the false front, and the front sets the tray. Every sink manufacturer publishes a minimum cabinet size for each bowl, and that published figure, not the bowl width, is the one to plan from. An undermount bowl that measures 30 inches across usually needs a wider cabinet than 30 once its rim and clips are allowed for.

Get that number before the layout is fixed, because it often decides between two neighbouring sink base widths — say a GPG SB33 at $468.00 and an SB36 at $490.75 — and moving up one size pushes a run of cabinets along by three inches. Once the base is right, tell us the code and the tray length is not a decision you have to make at all. Our kitchen dimensions guide covers the other measurements to take while the tape is out.

What the kit leaves room for below

The tray takes the small, wet things: brushes, scourers, a sink stopper. The mat takes the floor. Between them is the rest of the sink base, which in most kitchens holds cleaning products, a bin if the layout forced it here, and the dishwasher tablets.

Two notes on that middle space. A standard roll-out tray does not fit a sink base, because the plumbing and any disposal sit in the middle of its floor; that is why the sink base is the one base in the kitchen without a tray on the roll-out plan. And if you have small children, the cleaning products belong somewhere with a lock, not behind a sink door that a toddler can open. The tilt-out is too shallow for anything dangerous to live in, which is one of its quiet virtues.

Common questions

What accessories go in a sink base cabinet?
A tilt-out tray behind the false front and a mat on the cabinet floor. On this finish the tray is $162.50 in any length and GPG UNDER SINK MAT is $156.00, so the pair adds $318.50 to any sink base.
Can you put a tilt-out tray on a farmhouse sink cabinet?
No. The apron-front sink replaces the false front, so there is nothing to tilt. The under-sink mat still fits the cabinet floor and is worth having.
Is an under-sink mat worth buying?
It is the part we would buy first. The floor of the sink base is where slow leaks start, and a $156.00 mat protects it long before damage reaches the cabinet itself.
Do tilt-out trays fit bathroom vanity sink bases?
The trays are listed as sink tilt-out trays without naming vanities, and vanity sink bases on this finish are 34½ inches high. Ask us to confirm against the specific vanity code before ordering.
Which tilt-out tray length do I need?
The one that matches the false front on your sink base — 11, 14 or 24 inches, all $162.50. Send the sink base code and we choose the length against it.
