Choosing the height of an 18-inch pantry

Width is the easy decision on an 18-inch tall cabinet — it is a single-door pantry, it holds what a single-door pantry holds, and there is nothing else offered at this size to compare it against. Height is the decision that goes wrong, because four heights are sold and only one of them fits your ceiling properly.
Four heights, and what each is for
The dataset carries 84", 90", 93" and 96" at this width, in both 12" and 24" depths — eight units in total, SKUs TP181284 through TP182496. The published spec sheet lists three tall heights; the 93" units are live and priced, so they are included below. Confirm the height you order against the current spec sheet, because that is the one dimension you cannot correct on site.

What the height costs
Not much, and not in a straight line. Going from 84" to 96" in the 12"-deep box adds about $100.00 — call it a dollar an inch of extra storage, which is the best value in the tall category. The 90" and 93" units price within a few dollars of each other, so pick between them on trim, not on budget.
Depth costs even less: $32.50 separates the 12"-deep box from the 24"-deep one at every height here. The whole eight-unit range spans $1,020.50 to $1,150.50, so the real financial decision at 18" was made when you chose a tall cabinet over three wall cabinets and a base — not when you chose between these eight.
Eighteen inches against fifteen and twenty-four
Three inches up from 15" costs roughly $150.00 and buys the difference between a shelf that takes standard bins and one that does not. Six inches up from here lands on 24", which changes the cabinet entirely — that is where the second door appears, and with it a clear opening wide enough to reach into with both arms.
There is no 21" pantry. If your wall gives you 19" to 23", this is your cabinet and the remainder is filler. Order the filler in the same finish and let the installer scribe it to the wall; a 3" strip against a return wall is invisible, while a cabinet forced into a tight opening is not.
Two ways an 18 goes wrong
Ordering 84" because the kitchen has an 8-foot ceiling and 84 sounds like the number that goes with it. It is the number that goes with a soffit. In a kitchen with no soffit, an 84" pantry leaves a foot of dust shelf at eye level that nobody ever uses and everybody notices.
The second mistake is buying the tall height and forgetting the delivery path. A 96" box that has been pre-assembled does not tilt up a stairwell with a low landing. Measure the diagonal of every doorway it has to pass through before the truck arrives.
