Thirty-six inches: sixteen boxes, more than any other width

This is the busiest width on the base board and the last one that still behaves like ordinary cabinetry. Sixteen SKUs, from a $100.75 diagonal sink floor to a $1,095.25 lazy Susan, doing eight genuinely different jobs. Past this point the menu collapses — no drawer bank is made wider, no apron sink, no corner storage — so if a run needs any of those, thirty-six inches is where the decision gets made.
Eight jobs at one width

What size sink base for a 33-inch sink?
This one, most of the time. A 33-inch sink in a 33-inch cabinet has no tolerance, and undermount clips, faucet holes and a bit of out-of-square wall use tolerance up quickly. SB36 at $490.75 gives the fabricator room and gives you a cabinet the sink drops into without argument.
The rule stands for every sink: read the manufacturer's minimum cabinet width, not the bowl size. Where the two numbers are equal, go up one step on the grid. Three inches costs $22.75 at this end of the board and buys away an entire class of problem.
The corner sink is a kit, not a cabinet
A diagonal sink arrangement is assembled from parts. DSB36 and DSB36FD are the diagonal sink cabinets at $617.50; DSF36 is a diagonal sink front at $149.50; DSFL36 is a diagonal sink floor at $100.75. They are listed and priced separately, which tells you they are not all included with one another.
That is unusual enough on a base board that it is worth saying plainly: before ordering a corner sink, confirm which of those parts comes with the box you are buying and which you have to add. Nobody wants to find out on install day that the floor was a separate line.
The last width with drawers, and whether to use it
DB36 is $1,030.25 for three drawers; DB36-2 is $1,017.25 for two deep ones. Nothing wider than this has a drawer bank at all, so these are the widest drawers you can buy on the grid.
Worth comparing against splitting the same run: two 18-inch three-drawer banks are $646.75 each, $1,293.50 for the pair, so the single wide bank is $263.25 cheaper and gives you one uninterrupted interior instead of two. Against that, a 36-inch drawer front is a heavy piece of door to hang on a slide, and a 36-inch drawer loaded with cast iron is a genuinely heavy thing to pull. The glides are rated for it; your habits may not be. We split it at the range, where the drawers get opened forty times a week, and keep it single where they hold what they hold.
The mistake at this width
Assuming the wider version exists. Because thirty-six is so well stocked, planners get used to finding whatever they want at whatever width, then draw a 42-inch drawer bank or a 39-inch apron sink and discover it is not made. If a run needs drawers, an apron sink, corner storage or a shallow base, thirty-six is your ceiling. Everything above it is doors, a sink base and a blind corner.
