Twelve oven towers, and the four prices they share

Reviewed September 2026 · Captivating Cabinets

Thirty-three inches is the only tall width in this collection with no pantry in it at all. Twelve boxes are built here and every one of them is an appliance tower, which means the shopping question is not how much cabinet you want but which machine you have bought. What makes the page worth reading is that the twelve prices overlap: the same figure buys different builds at different heights, so the number on the listing carries almost no information about the size of what arrives.

The whole width in one grid

Three builds, four heights, one depth. Depth is not a variable here — an appliance tower is full depth because the cutout demands it — so where a pantry code ends in two digits for depth and height, these end in a single letter for the build: D for double oven, C for the oven-and-microwave combo, S for single oven.

Where the prices land on top of each other

Read that grid across instead of down and the overlaps appear. Two pairs are exact to the cent, and two more sit within $3.25 of each other — close enough that nobody comparing listings would spot the difference.

Height is nearly free here, and nowhere else

Taking any of these three builds from 84 inches to 96 costs between $149.50 and $162.50. On the 30-inch pantry the same extra foot costs $331.50 and on the 36 it costs $630.50, because height on a pantry is priced against the whole width of shelf it adds. An appliance tower gains no shelf by getting taller — the extra height goes above the openings, where the appliances already sit — so it is charged almost as trim.

That is an argument for buying the tall version. Nothing about the machines changes, the ovens do not move up or down, and the run closes to the ceiling for the price of a decent pull. The one thing to check is the reverse: a taller cabinet does not raise the top oven, so if a stacked pair is already at the edge of comfortable reach, extra box height will not fix it.

If you wanted thirty-three inches of storage

You cannot have it as one box. There is no 33-inch pantry in this finish and no 33-inch tall cabinet of any kind that is not built around an appliance, which catches people out because 33 is a perfectly normal width everywhere else in the catalogue — it exists as a base, as a wall cabinet and as a vanity.

A 33-inch gap that has to be storage is a 30-inch pantry and three inches of filler, scribed to the wall. Order the filler in the finish and on the same order; a three-inch strip against a return wall is invisible, and it is what stops a tall box being forced into an opening that is out of plumb.

The sequence that cannot be reversed

The appliance is bought first, always. Cutout height, cutout width and required depth vary between manufacturers and between model years, the cabinet opening is fixed at the factory, and no amount of trim will rescue a tower ordered around the wrong machine. Have the installation sheet — not the sales brochure — and check the published opening for the exact code against it before anything is committed. We will confirm it with you, or the design service will, and neither costs anything.

On the plan, give the tower a landing counter of at least fifteen inches immediately beside it. A hot tray has to go down within a step, and a tower dropped into the middle of a work surface satisfies the elevation while ruining the workflow.

One more consequence of the fixed depth, and it reaches past this cabinet. Because no shallow version exists, an oven tower sets the depth of every tall box that stands beside it — a shallow pantry next to one leaves a foot of step and a raw cabinet side facing the room. So if the wall has to carry both an appliance tower and storage, the whole tall run is committed to full depth on the day the oven is chosen, and the twelve-inch pantries come off the table for that wall whether or not anybody noticed.

Draw the elevation to scale before any of it is ordered. Thirty-three is an awkward number on a three-inch grid: a wall carrying this tower plus a pantry needs 33 plus 24, 30 or 36 and a strip of filler between them, and that is much cheaper to discover on paper than on install day.

Common questions

What does an oven cabinet cost at 33 inches?
The twelve towers span $1,599.00 to $1,920.75. GN OC3384D, the shortest double, sits at the bottom of that; GN OC3396S, the tallest single, sits at the top.
Why does a single oven cabinet cost more than a double?
Because more of it is cabinet. GN OC3384D is largely one long opening, whereas GN OC3384S has to be finished carcass over and under a single machine — more doors, another drawer, more hardware. The money follows the woodwork, not the hole.
Is there a 33 inch pantry cabinet in this collection?
No. Thirty-three inches is an appliance width only in the tall family — every box built there is an oven tower. A 33-inch storage gap takes the 30-inch pantry and a three-inch filler.
Should I buy a taller oven cabinet?
Usually yes. Going from 84 to 96 inches costs $149.50 to $162.50 depending on the build, which is the cheapest height upgrade anywhere in the tall family, and the extra height closes the run to the ceiling without moving the appliances.
What is the difference between a combo and a double oven cabinet?
A double stacks two matching wall ovens in one tall opening. A combo is built for two machines of unequal height — usually an oven with a microwave or speed oven sitting over it — and whatever space is left over is finished as a door or a drawer. On price the combo lands between the double and the single at every height.
