Galaxy Dove full height single door bases: the quiet side of a two-tone kitchen

In a two-tone kitchen one colour has to be the quiet one, and Dove is built for the part: an off-white that still counts as white but without the glare that makes a stark white perimeter compete with a wood or navy island. Galaxy Dove full height single door base cabinets — 9″ to 21″ wide, with the door running the whole face and no drawer above it — are the perimeter boxes that keep that side calm, one field of paint per cabinet.
The perimeter that lets the island have the colour
The pairings we draw most in this finish are Dove over a Timber island, Dove over an Indigo island, and Dove uppers with Truffle bases. What the off-white is asked to do in each is recede — be the white the room registers without being the thing it looks at — and a perimeter of door-only boxes recedes better than one full of drawer tiers, because a row of drawer fronts is a second horizontal rhythm competing with the island for attention. So on the perimeter walls that do not need drawers — the refrigerator wall, the pantry side, the stretch by the back door — we use these, and keep the drawer banks at the cooking position where they earn their keep.

One pairing to leave alone: Dove and Linen together read as a matching error rather than a choice, and a Dove perimeter under a stark bright white island is the one arrangement where the off-white stops reading white, because the harder white is right there for comparison. Five widths without a drawer, at full depth and at 12 inches
All five are 34½″ high with one full-overlay door on Blum soft-close hinges and nothing above it. Each also comes 12″ deep instead of 24″, with a -12D suffix, at a few dollars less. The last column is where each width tends to land on the quiet side of the plan.

Why do off-white cabinets look grey? Under-counter shadow and cool bulbs
A full-height base door is the largest single piece of this paint below the counter, and base doors live in the counter’s shadow: the undercabinet strip lights the worktop, the ceiling cans light the floor, and the door between them gets what is left. In a bright south-facing room that does not matter — Dove reads as a clean warm white all day. In a dim or north-facing kitchen it does, because in low light the off-white can drift faintly grey, and under 4000K or cooler bulbs it drifts further. A perimeter that has gone grey is no longer the quiet white side of the kitchen; it is a second colour.
The fix is the bulbs, not the paint. Run the room at 2700–3000K, including the undercabinet strip and any toe-kick lighting, and the warmth comes back. Then check it the way it will actually be seen: tape the door sample at base height, under the counter overhang, and look at it at night with the island sample beside it. Where the narrow door-only boxes land on a perimeter
- Either side of the range, as a mirrored pair. Two GD B09FD ($546.00 the pair) or two GD B12FD ($656.50) bracket the appliance with identical tall doors and no half-drawer above either; order the left box hinged left and the right hinged right so both swing away from the burners — the part number carries no hand, so it goes on the order.
- Beside the refrigerator, as the 12″ pull-out pantry. A full-height door is what lets the pull-out use the whole opening; the same box with a drawer stops the unit at the top.
