Galaxy Linen Easy Reach Base Cabinets

A square corner box sits with two sides against the walls and claims the same length from each: 33″ for the ERB33, 36″ for the ERB36. Whatever cabinet comes next on either leg starts after that. So the question is not which size you prefer; it is whether both legs can give up 36″ and still land the rest of the run. The dimensions otherwise match the line — 34½″ high, a single door, as deep along each wall as it is wide — and the price gap is small enough to ignore.

The 3″ the larger box adds is worth having: it is 3″ more shelf on each leg and a wider door, which is why the 36 inch easy reach corner cabinet is the one we draw first. Take it whenever the plan allows. If you are working from a standard 10x10 layout, the corner usually can.

Open the door and the interior is one continuous L on each shelf: a leg running along the left wall, a leg along the right, meeting at the back. Nothing is hidden, but the back is a long way off, so the shelf has three natural zones and they should be assigned before anything goes in.

• The front of both legs, the first foot inside the door: daily items. Pots, the colander, the mixing bowls, oils and vinegars.
• The middle of each leg: weekly items, reachable with a lean. Baking dishes, the stand mixer, the second set of pans.
• The back corner: permanent residents. Things that live there and come out a few times a year, loaded last and never in front of anything else.

Fixed shelves are the reason to choose this box over a rotating one. They carry what a round tray cannot: sheet pans and cooling racks standing on edge along a leg, a tall stockpot, a countertop appliance with a cord, a case of sparkling water. If the corner is where those things are going, the rotating unit on the same footprint is the wrong tool, and the dearer one.

Every installer knows this and every first-time buyer learns it on the day: a corner cabinet sets the starting point for both walls, so it is placed, leveled and fixed before anything else. The sequence that avoids a reorder runs like this.

1. Set the corner box, shim it level in both directions and fix it to both walls. Its two back sides must be square to each other, which means finding the high point of the floor in the corner first.
2. Run the cabinets out from it along each leg. Any remainder against a wall lands at the end of the run, not at the corner.
3. Check the two doors flanking the diagonal. They sit at 45° to it, and their hardware points into its swing. If a long pull would be struck, hold that neighbor back with a GL BF3 filler or change the hardware on those two doors.
4. Template the countertop only after the corner is fixed. A 36″ corner box needs a deeper corner in the slab than the standard 25″ run, and the fabricator should see it in place.

Here is the honest inventory, and it is the comparison that matters once the price is settled. The angled box shows you everything but makes you go and get it; the rotating box brings it to you; the blind box hides a strip for good.

Read across the top row. The one real weakness of this box is the back corner, and the one real strength is that the shelves are flat and full-width. Choose it for what it holds, not for what it saves against rotation.
