Pie-cut and wedge are two different machines

A pie-cut tray is a full circle with a 90° wedge taken out of it. The two door panels bolt to the trays and turn with them, so pushing the doors rotates the whole assembly.   • Eccentric loading. A cast-iron pan and three bottles all in the same quadrant puts the whole weight on one side of the pivot every time the tray comes to rest. Spread heavy items across the circle, not around one arc of it.

  • The wet corner. This is where the oil bottle weeps and nobody looks. Oil plus flour is a grinding paste, and it is the one thing that genuinely seizes a bearing. Wipe the tray twice a year and it will outlast the kitchen.

The clearance a rotating door needs

A corner door sweeps an arc rather than a flat plane, and three things live in that arc. The pulls on the two cabinets flanking the corner project into it, which is what the $3.90 restrictor clips are for — or give those two neighbours knobs and hold the third back with a GN BF3 filler at $26.00.
