Twenty-four inches is the number the rest of the catalogue is built around: it is how deep every base box is, how wide a dishwasher opening has to be, and the width more part numbers are made in than any other below thirty. It is also the best place on the board to see what a base cabinet actually costs, because the same twenty-four inches can be bought for $403.00 or specified past $1,700.00 without anyone doing anything unreasonable.

GN DB24-2 is $19.50 more than GN DB24 for one fewer drawer, which is the only place on the base board where fewer drawers cost more. That reverses higher up the ladder, and it is worth knowing before someone quotes you the two-drawer version as an economy.
